The Story of Casa NAVA: A Passion for Embroidery and Spanish Tradition
Founded in 1988 in the historic town of Lagartera (Toledo)—one of Spain’s most renowned centers of textile tradition—Artesanía Nava was born from a deep love for craftsmanship and the preservation of Spanish cultural heritage. Over three generations, this family-run house has passed down the secrets of embroidery, the patience required for precise stitching, and a devotion to creating garments with soul from mother to daughter.
Every piece crafted in this workshop embodies decades of expertise, blending the mastery of traditional handwork with the exacting standards of fine artisanal tailoring. Today, Casa NAVA remains a benchmark of distinction, timeless elegance, and authenticity for flamenco dancers, brides, and admirers of textile art across Spain and the world.
Inspired by this history, Amapolas Moras set out to find the most exceptional shawls in Spain to bring to you!
Large Silk Chiffon *Mantón de Manila* (Shawl) for Flamenco and Spanish Dance
Born from this rich artisanal heritage, this semi-transparent silk chiffon flamenco shawl is a unique piece created through meticulous machine embroidery performed on a traditional family sewing machine. It fuses classic Spanish craftsmanship with the lightness and fluidity required for professional flamenco dance.
The silk chiffon fabric features a subtly textured finish that gives the shawl character and a fluid drape. The carefully balanced ratio between its 800-gram weight and the density of its fringe ensures the perfect hang, allowing it to move gracefully with every turn, flourish, and final flourish of the dance. The premium silk fringe is hand-netted and hand-knotted using the traditional macramé technique from Cantillana, Spain, creating incredible movement. More than just an accessory, this shawl is a true work of art—meant to be admired and passed down as a treasured heirloom from generation to generation.
